A useful place to start

Make the vaccination plan personal

Review the whole history

Age is one part of the decision. Earlier vaccines, chronic conditions and treatment plans help determine which protection is due and which doses are unnecessary.

Make room for a caregiver

Keep a family member informed about the appointment, follow-up instructions and any next dose. Ask the team about access or mobility needs when arranging a visit.

Keep one clear record

After vaccination, retain the product name, dose date and batch details. Set a reminder only for the next dose or review agreed with the clinician.

Timing, eligibility and next steps

What to discuss with your clinician

This guide supports a conversation; it is not an individual prescription. International guidance and Indian product approvals can differ.

Seasonal influenza

Review annually with an age-appropriate current formulation. Older adults are among the groups at increased risk of severe influenza.

Pneumococcal disease

Eligibility and timing depend on age, risk and earlier PCV or PPSV23 doses. CDC guidance includes adults aged 50 and above; the treating clinician must apply the approved Indian product information. PCV20 does not prevent every cause of pneumonia.

Shingles

CDC guidance recommends a two-dose recombinant zoster course for adults aged 50 and above, usually 2–6 months apart. The clinician should confirm the Indian label, health status and earlier doses.

Td / Tdap and other vaccines

Review the date of the last tetanus-containing vaccine and any missed primary doses. Travel, exposure and medical history may create additional vaccine needs.

Share diabetes, heart or lung disease, immune-suppressing treatment, blood-thinning medicines and previous reactions with the clinician. Do not stop prescribed medicines on your own. The plan should avoid unnecessary repeat doses.

Senior citizen vaccination at home FAQs

Which vaccines should senior citizens consider?

Common review points include seasonal influenza, pneumococcal disease, shingles and tetanus-containing boosters. The right plan depends on previous doses, health conditions and current Indian product eligibility.

Is a pneumonia vaccine needed every year?

Pneumococcal vaccination is not an annual flu shot. The schedule depends on the product and previous doses; a clinician should review the record before another dose is booked.

What if my parent cannot find their vaccination card?

Share any available prescriptions, hospital records or approximate dose dates. Ask for a clinical review rather than booking a complete repeat course without assessment.

Can vaccines be given at the same visit?

Some vaccines can be administered together, but the clinician should assess the products, medical history and practical arrangements. Do not combine appointments without confirming the plan.

Can I compare prices before booking?

Yes. The featured cards display current per-dose catalogue prices. Home visit fees depend on the PIN code and are shown separately before confirmation.
